I've had the boy a little over three years now, and he's grown up into a great dog. I've said that before, but he really is a great dog.

)

Shepard's had a better year than last year. He's gotten used to living here, and now even has a fenced in deck he can go out on and enjoy the outside. I've been trying to train him to stay on the property and not go after things that aren't on it, but I'm thinking we're going to need a wireless fence to keep his curiosity in check.

Shepard actually made a return trip to Port Hope for the first time in two years. Reason I stopped taking him was because he didn't know how to do his duty on a leash and went inside the house. Not good when you're trying to sell it. But since he's grown up, I can actually trust him off the leash up there (Not around here, but that's another story... he's still too easily distracted). Good thing he's shorter than the weeds, else he'd still be chasing after deer.

(Shepard getting a sense of deja vu, probably thinking: "This place seems familiar")

Shepard instantly remembered the place and got right to his favorite activity

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention Shepard's nephew, Bud. The little guy isn't so little anymore, and looks up to his uncle to see how to behave around humans. Bud's getting it, slowly. The two of them get along great.

As always, here's a link to a directory with pics of Shepard.
